Professor Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) teaches geography at university and he is the director of the Center for volcanic activity. Max Anderson, Trevor's brother, built an embedded systems and control units available worldwide 10 years ago. For some unknown reason, he could not return and leaves his wife and son, Sean (Josh Hutcherson). Shawn mother leaves teenager in Trevor house to make some quality time with his uncle. During the electrical storm on the volcano, they fall into the abandoned mines. whiule searching a way to get out of mines they finda wall filled with large diamonds. Unfortunately, they can not keep their weight, and they fall on the volcano pipes, for miles and miles to reach the center of the Earth. There, they face glow prehistoric bird, flying piranha, man-power plants and T-Rex dinosaurs have been extinct millions of years. They note that they see the same thing, that were printed in the book by Jules Verne. This gives them the hope that someone could escape from the center of the Earth and return to the surface.
